Wireless RV Segment
This page is intended solely for the purpose of transmitting information.
The progress on the wireless system is advancing rapidly. The RV Open House allowed us to evaluate market demand. We currently have a working system that is being upgraded to eliminate the marker lights on the sides and rear. Verity has been developing the wireless system for commercial trucking for over a year. Our engineering team in Mishawaka collaborates closely with our engineering partners at the factory.
Given the variety of towable formats that will utilize this system, we are taking a targeted approach to accommodate the different types of towables. We have made significant improvements to the system, transforming it into an Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) project with products manufactured specifically for us. This change will not cause any delays; in fact, it will expedite the process.
Our goal is to implement a tiered approach to this project. The different system formats will utilize universal protocols with interchangeable cameras, resulting in a single set of SKUs that best match the units. We are focusing on two specific levels: 1. Camera system for entry-level trailers. 2. Camera system for larger fifth wheels. Additionally, some components can be added or removed, such as touchscreen options, SD-card MDVRs, mounts, and power cable configurations.
We expect to receive samples next week, and our R&D team will conduct a full day of testing. After the tests, we will convene with you to review the samples collaboratively and plan the next steps.
Meanwhile, our U.S. attorney will be reviewing the patent for the camera we are using, which is designed to be inserted into the pre-installed mount. We encountered a similar situation last year when a competitor abandoned 8,000 wireless systems in a large fleet. During that project, we learned that typically, once you purchase a unit with the bracket, it becomes your property. Verity always emphasizes, “We will not sell anything we cannot defend in court.”
